A PARTY was thrown at an Iffley care home on Thursday to celebrate a glowing report from the Care Quality Commission.

In the newly-published report, inspectors rated Iffley Residential and Nursing Home in Anne Greenwood Close, Oxford, as 'good' in all areas.

It found that staff were 'down-to-earth', 'accommodating' and 'always willing to help' with plenty of support and activities available to residents.

An inspection in 2015 revealed the home required improvement for safety due to concerns over medicine management.

The new report was celebrated with tea and cakes.

Home manager Sue Stubberfield, said: "My team are dedicated to provide the best possible care with kindness for our residents.

"We are all over the moon that this is reflected with such a positive rating. The positive comments from our residents and their loved ones are truly heart-warming to read and makes everything that little bit more rewarding. We are all so proud and we will continue the hard work."

Resident Ethel Moffitt, 90, added: “It was very well deserved. I feel very safe and comfortable here."
