HOLLYWOOD star Woody Harrelson popped along to an Oxford cinema.

The actor, best known for his role as bartender Woody Boyd in sitcom Cheers, was at Jericho's Phoenix Picturehouse to promote his latest film 'Lost in London'.

Cinema-goers quizzed the star after a special screening at the Walton Street venue on Saturday afternoon.

Speaking to the Oxford Mail, Harrelson revealed he was yet to soak up the city's sights but said: "I like Oxford it's really cool and beautiful."

Lost in London, set to open at the cinema on May 19, sees Harrelson playing himself as he struggles to get home to his family after one night in the capital.

Shot live in one 99-minute take in London from 2am, the film was screened straight to 500 cinemas.

The recorded version is set to be released in Picturehouse cinemas across the country.

Harrelson, who also played Haymitch Abernathy in The Hunger Games film series, said: "I’ve always loved theatre and film and wanted to find the best way to merge the two.

"When I decided to shoot this in real time I realised it wasn’t quite like true theatre because the one piece missing was a live audience.

"By broadcasting the film live as it was being shot I hoped to truly blend the excitement of live theater with the scale and scope of film.

"It was difficult and more of a challenge than I think I had imagined.

"It's really been amazing how well audiences have reacted to it."
