YOUNGSTERS, and their parents, at a Blackbird Leys-based dance group are celebrating a now-traditional huge haul of trophies from a national dance contest.

Dancers from Messy Jam walked away with about 200 trophies between them after representing Oxford at the XM British Street Dance Championships.

The dance school's parents' crew, Old Skool Flavah, were among the small army of local performers at long weekend on the Lincolnshire coast in March, and were named best in the Parents Fun Crew category for their routine involving a Missy Elliott medley and yoga balls.

The school's founder Ellisha Peart, from Barton, said: "We're getting more bookings for them than the kids.

"People don't expect parents to be able to dance like that; it shows you can be any age to dance and the kids are really proud of their parents as well.

"It wasn't until I looked at the pictures I realised how many children walked away with prizes; it was an awesome achievement."
