OVER the bank holiday more than 10 cars were targeted in a spate of vehicle break ins in Faringdon.
Between 6pm on Monday and 8.10am yesterday morning, five vehicles were broken into down Elm Road and items were taken.
Another set of break ins occured down Fernham Road where two cars were targeted between 9.30pm on Monday and 10am yesterday.
Tools were also taken from four vehicles in Marlborough Gardens between 10pm on Monday and 6.50am yesterday.
Some of the vehicles targeted were left unlocked and theives had ransacked glove compartments.
Police have released some advice for residents leaving their cars outside garages.
They have advised:
- Removing everything from your vehicle including removable stereos and sat navs. Do not leave anything in the glove compartment.
- Close all windows and the sunroof.
- Lock your vehicle and use your alarms if you have them.
- Park in a garage or drive way where possible. If this is not possible park in a well-lit/busy area.
