A QUAD bike rider has died after being involved in a crash, police have confirmed.

The man, in his 20s, was driving on the A4095 on April 3 when the collision took place.

It happened roughly between 7.30pm and 7.45pm on the carriageway between Chesterton and Kirtlington.

Thames Valley Police said the red quad bike was believed to be the only vehicle involved.

The rider sustained serious head injuries and was taken to hospital, while road closures were also put in place while investigators attended the scene.

But in a statement this morning, police said the man had died in care on Tuesday.

His next of kin have been informed.

The force yesterday renewed its call for people with knowledge of the quad bike and its rider, including those who may have seen it before the crash, to come forward.

It adding: “Thames Valley Police is continuing to appeal for witnesses following a serious quad bike collision in which the rider later died. Investigating officers would continue to appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw a red quad bike being driven in the area prior to the incident to please come forward.”

The force said those with information should call call PC Phil Hanham of the serious collision investigation unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting the reference 1440 for April 3, 2017.

Thames Valley Police yesterday did not disclose the identity of the rider.
