GOLF: Eddie Pepperell is back in European Tour action this week with the Trophee Hassan II in Morocco.
It is his first tournament for five weeks.
Pepperell’s diary includes a Berks, Bucks & Oxon PGA event on May 5 at Oxford Golf Club, where his brother Joe is the head professional.
The BB&O’s first Pro-Am of the season will be on April 27 at Drayton Park, which will celebrate the club’s 25th anniversary.
l Mitchell Green and Jamie Burns salvaged a draw for defending Section 1 champions Frilford Heath in their Core Golf Oxfordshire Foursomes League trip to Burford.
POOL: Ben Rowland enjoyed a ground-breaking tour to China shortly after becoming British junior champion.
The young professional, from Abingdon, beat his Oxfordshire teammate Hassan Ali 4-1 to take the national title.
Then Rowland, the reigning world under 21 champion, joined leading British senior players in flying to China to compete in the Chinese 8-ball Championship.
“This game is like American pool, played on a ten-foot snooker table,” explained Rowland.
“I lost all my games, but it was a great experience.”
His next competition is the European Championships at Bridlington later this month.
