Wesley Jacob, of Windmill Road, Headington, Oxford, admitted stealing meat and a basket from Waitrose, in Old High Street, Headington, on February 7 and 8. Jailed for eight weeks and ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Paul Townsend, 69, of Willes Close, Uffington, admitted committing fraud by dishonestly failing to disclose to the Vale of White Horse District Council that he had capital in excess of the prescribed limit, intending to gain council tax benefit for himself between May 25, 2009, and March 31, 2013. Also admitted committing fraud by dishonestly failing to disclose to the Department for Work and Pensions of the same matter, intending to gain pension credit between May 18. 2009 and February 9, 2014. Fined £1,000 and ordered to pay a £50 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Thomas Keegan, 21, of Chequers Place, Cholsey, Wallingford, admitted assaulting a woman by beating her in Druids Walk, Didcot, on January 22. Handed a community order with a 35-day programme requirement, a rehabilitation activity requirement and a 80-hour unpaid work requirement. Ordered to pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Neil McCann, 46, of Morrell Crescent, Oxford, admitted stealing £40.39-worth of food from Iceland, in Templars Square Shopping Centre, Oxford, on January 21. Handed a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Martin Ralph, 53, of Fieldfare Green, Luton, admitted possessing a machete at the Golden Ball, College Lane, Oxford, on November 26 last year. Fined £320 and ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Karl Welch, 32, of Stowood Close, Headington, Oxford, admitted damaging a cot, wine glasses, television and child stair gate without lawful excuse in Abingdon on September 17 last year. Fined £270 and ordered to pay £200 compensation, a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Graeme Faulkner, 42, of Henry Taunt Close, Barton, Oxford, admitted possessing one tablet of buprenorphine, a class C drug, in Banjo Road, Oxford, on February 16 last year. Handed a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £135 costs.

Jordan Mackintosh, 23, of Longacre Rise, Basingstoke, Hants, admitted assaulting Jimmy Rogers by beating him at the Travelodge, Peartree, Oxford, on October 30 last year. Handed an eight-week sentence, suspended for 12 months, with a 200-hour unpaid work requirement. Ordered to pay £250 compensation, a £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Michael Roberts, 37, of no fixed abode, admitted stealing till units, cash and wine from 6 St Michael's Street, Oxford, on February 5. Also admitted entering the same building with intent to steal on the same day. Also admitted failing without reasonable excuse to comply with the supervision requirements after being released from jail by not keeping in touch with his supervising officer. Jailed for 18 weeks and ordered to pay a £140 victim surcharge.

Joe Lawlor, 23, of Lindsay Drive, Peachcroft, Abingdon, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence on January 1 2017 in Grove Street, Wantage. Also admitted assaulting as constable in the execution of their duty in Grove Street, Wantage on January 1 2017. Fined £500. Ordered to pay a compensation of £100 and costs of £85.

Adrian Patrick Ryan, 28, of Astrop Lane, Oxford, admitted assaulting a man, causing actual bodily harm, in Headington, on March 11 2016. Sentenced to four months imprisonment suspended for 18 month. Rehabilitation activity requirement ordered for 25 days. Ordered to pay compensation of £250.

Kane Paul Forster, 29, of Falcon Close, Oxford, admitted unlawfully and maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm on a man on July 3, 2016 in Oxford. Community order made. Defendant ordered to carry out 250 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. Ordered to pay compensation of £750, a victim surcharge of £85 and costs of £85.

Scott Steven Hadlow, 37, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted possessing five wraps of diamorphine, a controlled drug of Class A, in Oxford on September 8 2016. Fined £100. Ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30. The heroin was forfeited and destroyed.

Paul Albin Aldridge, 53, of Riverside Court, Long Ford Close, Oxford, admitted without lawful authority or reasonable excuse, having with him in a public place, namely Cornmarket, an offensive weapon, namely a wooden stake on December 24, 2016. Sentenced to prison for eight weeks.

Harriet Clare Brown, 36, of St John Street, Oxford, admitted driving a Volkswagen Beetle, on the A420 London Road, Headington without due care and attention on March 15, 2016. Fined £105. Ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85. Driving record endorsed with four points.

Joshua Rankin, 29, of Drovers Court, Troy Close, Oxford, admitted criminal damage to property, valued under £5,000. Rankin, on February 1, 2017, damaged a car windscreen, intending to destroy or damage it or being reckless as to whether such property would be destroyed or damaged. Discharged conditionally for nine months. Also admitted possessing a controlled drug of Class B, cannabis or cannabis resin. Ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and pay costs for £85. The cannabis was forfeited and destroyed.
