Hospitals in Oxfordshire were hit by unsuccessful cyber attacks on five occasions last year, figures revealed.
Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was targeted by cyber criminals who attempted to hide it data and charge a ransom for its return, according to the BBC.
There were 16 attacks across the country in 2015 compared to 66 in 2016 - with five of those hitting Oxfordshire.
