THIS year’s snake’s head fritillary survey on Hinksey Meadow has been planned for Saturday, April 22.
Volunteers are invited to meet on the south side of Botley Road, opposite the entrance to Seacourt Park and Ride, at 10.30am, and the surveying will take roughly two hours.
Tim King and Janet Keene of Oxford Urban Wildlife Group will be leading the annual count of the unusual chequered flowers which thrive in Oxford’s flood plain meadows.
As flowering may be delayed by weather, contact Mr King (01865 515453) or Ms Keene (01865 820522) nearer the time to confirm the date.
