DISPLACED residents who lost their homes in the Valentine’s Day blast six weeks ago are still without permanent accommodation.

Last month’s explosion brought down a three-storey block of flats in Gibbs Crescent and killed 48-year-old Guido Schuette.

A2Dominion, which runs the flats, is still working with some residents to find them permanent homes.

Group housing director Dawn Wightman said: “All residents who are able to return have now moved back to their homes, whilst those from the worst-affected flats who are unable to return have been offered permanent alternative homes.

“There are six residents who did not feel able to accept the properties offered to them.

“We are continuing to work with these residents and Oxford City Council to find a suitable home.”

A date has not been set for when the damaged flats will be demolished as A2Dominion continue to collect residents’ belongings.

Police have refused to confirm the cause of the explosion.
