AN additional 700 patients came through Oxfordshire's hospitals in January compared with December.
NHS England figures released today shows how Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust struggled to meet the national target of seeing 95% of A&E patients within four hours.
It hit 84.8% after 1,833 patients visited the department.
In December 2016 the trust achieved 91.1% of the target as 1,105 patients came to the department.
The national average for January was 85.1%.
South Central Ambulance Service was just 0.3% off its national target of responding to red one emergency calls within eight minutes.
It reached 74.7% and was the second highest performing ambulance trust within the country.
