A MAN was repeatedly stabbed in a chicken shop during a brutal daylight attack.

The 22-year-old was ambushed by a group of young men in Chicken Hut in Cowley, and his attackers have not yet been caught.

The victim escaped to neighbouring Hampden Road where police and paramedics came to his aid.

Officers cordoned off the scene at about 3.45pm on Wednesday following the attack, in which the man suffered multiple stab wounds.

Thames Valley Police spokesman Jack Abell said the man remained in hospital on Thursday afternoon, adding: "It is not believed that his injuries are life threatening.

"It was an altercation between a group of men in their teens or early 20s."

He said an 'investigation is taking place' and anyone with information can call 101.

The force said it could not yet release information about injuries, the weapon used, or whether the victim knew his attackers.

No arrests have been made.

Employees at Chicken Hut did not want to comment.
