THE final act has been unveiled for Blenheim palace’s four-day festival of music – and it promises to be a treat for film-fans.

The 70-piece Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, will perform a concert of music by legendary film composer John Williams.

The Best Of John Williams show, conducted by Robert Ziegler, will feature an array of Williams’ work including music from Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, E.T., Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List and Star Wars.

The 22-time Grammy-winning composer, who turned 85 this month, has provided scores for more than 100 films over the course of an illustrious career spanning more than five decades. He will not be present at the concert.

The orchestra play the festival’s opening night on Thursday, June 15, alongside a bill featuring previously-announced artists Max Richter, whose ensemble perform his new work Vivaldi Recomposed and other works on the Friday; Jamie Cullum, Gregory Porter and Corinne Bailey Rae on the Saturday; with The Jacksons and Kool & The Gang wrapping it all up on the Sunday.

Tickets for The Best Of John Williams start at £25 and are on sale at 9am today.
