LORD Bradshaw, who lives in Wallingford, is to host a public meeting in the town on the Brexit bill.

The meeting will take place at 7pm on Thursday in the Methodist Church Hall.

Lord Bradshaw, a Liberal Democrat peer since 1999, is holding the meeting to give voters from his area an opportunity to bring up issues they want raised during this week’s House of Lords debate, as well as to share their personal views about the likely effects of Brexit on their lives.

The meeting will be hosted by the European Movement and chaired by local member John Gordon.

The bill is being debated in the House of Lords after it was passed through the House of Commons with no amendments.

Lord Bradshaw said: “Reviewing the Brexit legislation in the House of Lords is a responsibility I take extremely seriously.

“Listening to people who will be directly affected by Brexit will help me to approach the debate in a more informed and effective way.

“I hope that this will just be the beginning of working closely with those who live near me on this issue.”

Lord Bradshaw, is best known as Bill Bradshaw and is a British academic and politician.

A Lib Dem member of the House of Lords, where he is the party’s spokesman on transport, he was an Oxfordshire county councillor from 1993 until January, 2008.
