I WAS waiting at Martyrs’ Memorial recently and thought I would avail myself of the toilet facilities near St Mary Magdalen Church.
I went down into what I had always thought was the ladies’ loo only to find a man standing in a cubicle urinating.
Now I see that the loos are unisex, and I ask the men of Oxford to close the door behind them before proceeding!
I must say the cubicles are small and there is little room for manoeuvre, but even so!
I understand that in these days of gender equality we must be tolerant, but it came as rather a shock to find a man in a state of undress.
In future I had better use the loos in Debenhams!
And in case you are thinking “what a prude!”, I was a nurse for many years, and saw sights that a lot of you have not.
