A WOMAN in her 30s was sexually assaulted in Bicester.

She was walking in Chapel Street at about 8.50pm on Thursday night when she saw a man approaching her from the opposite direction.

He spoke to her before sexually assaulting her and then ran away in the direction of Priory Road.

The man is believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s and is approximately 5ft 7ins to 5ft 9ins and had stubble on his chin.

At the time of the attack he was wearing a black hooded jumper and dark trousers. 

Detective Constable Ruth Ivins, from Banbury, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who has any information about this incident in which a woman was sexually assaulted.

"Specially-trained officers are offering support to the victim and detectives are working to identify and locate the offender.

“I would also like to appeal to anyone in Chapel Street or the vicinity who has CCTV footage which may be useful to the investigation, to contact police.

“You may see officers patrolling in the area and any members of the public who have any concerns, or any information, can approach and speak to an officer in the area.”
