A ‘VOLATILE’ woman who slashed her relative with a blade and throttled her sister during a violent family argument has been locked up for 28 months.

Charlotte McCollin lashed out at family members after flouting a restraining order forbidding her from contacting her father Martin McCollin or visiting him at his Blackbird Leys home.

The 25-year-old, of Pegasus Road, Oxford, left relative Sacha Godfrey fearing for her safety after needing nine stitches to mend a head wound.

McCollin ‘kicked off’ at her father’s Blay Close home, driving sister Naomi McCollin out of the house without shoes, prosecutor Cathy Olliver said.

Her sister returned with Ms Godfrey, but the defendant ‘flew’ at her sister during an argument about a mobile phone, forcing Naomi McCollin to dart into a bedroom to escape.

The attacker followed her sister, throttling her and pinning her down before their father tried to drag her away, but she returned and punched Naomi McCollin.

The trio fled with their pets but Ms Godfrey went back to the kitchen to fetch dog leads where she spotted McCollin brandishing a blade and a ‘scuffle’ then began.

Ms Godfrey, who also suffered a neck wound, bashed a kettle against her attacker’s head before McCollin fled.

Defence barrister Lucy Tapper said McCollin did not intend to lash out at her loved ones.

McCollin, who must pay a victim surcharge, admitted unlawful wounding, breaching a restraining order and assault by beating on July 17 last year.
