A major £60m regeneration of the Templars Square shopping centre will be open to public scrutiny at two public sessions this weekend.

NewRiver, owner of the centre, has submitted a planning application for the development which if approved will include 225 new homes, a 71-bed hotel and two new restaurants.

Developers will be at the centre on Friday and Saturday to show the up-to-date plans and to hear questions from the public.

Property director at NewRiver Allan Lockhart said: “We’re delighted to have submitted planning and to now present our exciting proposals again to the local community to show how we’ve incorporated previous feedback.

“This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to revitalise the heart of Cowley and these drop-in sessions demonstrate our long term investment in the town and our continuing commitment to work in partnership with the local community to deliver truly exceptional development.”

The sessions, held at Bank Court within the centre, will take place on Friday between noon and 5pm and Saturday from 10am until 4pm.

The Oxford Mail will be meeting with the development team on Friday to ask them questions about the project.
