THE first ever jam night hosted by a creative media institution in Littlemore drew in the crowds.

SAE, which offers degree courses in animation, audio, music business, film, games and web, held the event on Wednesday.

Those in attendance had the chance to meet other artists, experiment with improvisation and try out some of SAE’s world-class equipment.

There was the chance to jam in the institute’s music studios, where legend of the music industry such as Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich honed their craft.

There was also an opportunity for people to make music together and try out different things.

The event was organised by SAE’s Niko O’Brien, who is also organising Tandem Collective – a three-day music festival celebrating Oxford’s vibrant music scene.

The jamming session proved so popular a similar event is planned for next month.

SAE’s Oxford campus is one of 54 across 28 countries, with three others in the UK based in London, Liverpool and Glasgow.

The centre off Armstrong Road in Littlemore is the institute’s global headquarters and is ‘the heart of a creative media education network’.

On Friday students there will exhibit their portfolios to the public, including animation, audio, film, game, art and music business.

Prospective students have also been invited to attend to find out more about the work of students.
