YOUNG hospital patients are being asked for their views on the treatment they have received while at one of Oxfordshire's hospitals.

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is carrying out a survey to find out what children, young people and their parents think about the care they received at the John Radcliffe and Horton General Hospitals.

Children and young people who were an inpatient or a day case in November or December, as well as their parents, may receive a questionnaire asking them about their experiences. early next year.

They will be asked about various aspects of their care, including their arrival at hospital, the quality of care and treatment, communication with doctors and nurses, the information they received and the hospital environment.

Caroline Heason, who leads for the Trust on Patient Experience, said: “We hope our patients will take the time to help us with this survey.

“Their views are vital in helping us to find out how we are doing and how we can improve. This is an excellent way for patients and their parents to help shape the services we provide in the future.”

Participation in the survey is voluntary. People’s responses are anonymous and the results of the survey will be presented in a form that does not allow any individual's answers to be identified.

A patient’s care will not be affected by whether they choose to participate or from the answers they provide.

The OUH’s Young People’s Executive helped the NHS to develop the survey.
