AN elderly woman still in hospital after being struck by a coach in St Aldates on Monday.

The 77-year-old suffered serious leg injuries after the coach 'had gone over her legs' as she was crossing by Carfax.

She was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital and police have launched an appeal for witnesses to contact them with information.

This morning Thames Valley Police spokeswoman Jessica Rodgerson said: "The woman involved in the crash in St Aldate’s on Monday is still in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

"We are still appealing for witnesses and would ask anyone with any information to call police on 101."

Investigating Officer PC Chloe Sutton said "I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who has any information about the collision, even if you think it might be insignificant, please come forward."

The incident took place in St Aldate's shortly before 2.30pm.

South Central Ambulance Service spokesman David Gallagher said it appeared 'the wheels had gone over her legs'.

A Thames Valley Air Ambulance also hovered over the scene but she was taken to hospital by road.

One lane heading southbound towards Abingdon Road was closed while police investigate the incident.
