Director of Oxford Fashion Studio Carl Anglim said: “From my point of view, of the castings we’ve done in Oxford, this was the best.

“I’ve been really pleased with the candidates. You can see from the pictures, everyone has worn black.

“It’s clear they’re prepared and good-quality models.”

Runway Director Tiffany Saunders agreed, saying: “The quality and standard of all the models were fantastic. It was our best casting day we’ve had.

“It was a great opportunity for us to get to know them and they’re all just really interesting people, really friendly and lovely.

“I enjoy doing the open castings because it’s a great opportunity to meet new models and build relationships with them.

“Models we need in Oxford often work with us in our other shows as well, whether that’s in London or Paris. Last year a couple of them were even in our New York show.”

The desired spot was won last year by Mary Bowen, a 16-year-old Headington School pupil after being chosen by the public.

Tiffany Saunders said: “It was the combination of her personality and her beautiful looks that meant she was the easy winner of Face of Oxford Fashion Week.

“We all put our thoughts in after the casting and we all came to the same conclusion, it just had to be Mary.”

Oxford’s tenth fashion week will celebrated with a number of new and exciting events.

Highlights include a raffle and auction, with the entirety of the proceeds being donated to Oxfordshire Youth charity based in Headington.

A dress created of entirely discarded materials will also be worn down the catwalk and 10 percent of ticket sales at the events will go towards the charity.

Those interested in voting for the winning model can visit the Oxford Fashion Week Facebook page and cast a vote by liking their chosen candidate. The model chosen as the winner will receive two front-row tickets to the runway show next Friday.

Votes can be cast until 5pm on Monday.

I am with two modelling agencies at the moment and one day I hope to own my own modelling agency.Being the face would be a dream. I am building up my portfolio and this would be an amazing opportunity to get my face out there and hopefully inspire other girls to get involved with what’s going on around them. I am dedicated and willing to put in the hard work for the show and this overall experience.”

Amberley Vircavs, 16, Kidlington: “I attend Gosford Hill School Sixth form and study Geography, PE and Maths for my A-Levels. I play football for Kidlington Ladies and a member at Oxford City Athletic Club. I’d like to win the face of Oxford Fashion Week because I love fashion and have always wanted to do modelling and catwalk.”

Angus Henderson, 17, Woodstock: ‘I am a carpenter and part time model. As I got taller people started suggesting to me that I get into modelling, so I did and I enjoyed it. I would like to win the face of Oxford Fashion Week as I believe that would be such a great achievement and boost in confidence knowing that you are the face and also as a local girl I think it would be just amazing.”

Emily Louise Hill Spence, 17, Bicester: “I am studying philosophy, biology and chemistry in Oxford. I have always been interested in fashion and modelling in general - what better way to get in to it than in a city where I grew up. I left there this last summer with three A-Levels and a deferred place to Derby University to study Events Management. I currently have a job at a newly opened shire pub ‘The Four Candles’ in Moreton Pinkney. Winning the face of Oxford Fashion Week would be a great deal of fun- it would be a wonderful opportunity to take part in something i have never done before, meeting lots of new people and being very much out of my comfort zone.”

Mia Hardy, 15, Abingdon: “I live in Abingdon, I am currently studying for my GCSEs at Larkmead School in Abingdon. I would like to win the Face of Oxford Fashion Week because I really love being a model and I’m extremely interested in fashion. Also modelling in Oxford Fashion Week last season was an incredible opportunity and it was an honour to wear such wonderful clothes by inspirational designers.”

Shaunna Latchaman, 28, Oxford: “I am a bit of a cocktail, born in Jamaica with Indian and Cuban heritage, but I grew up here. I work in communications at the University of Oxford and write a monthly magazine column. Oxford is a city unlike any other, always changing, yet remaining the same. Like a painting, its layers and brush strokes represent a complex history of myriad peoples, cultures and influences, and I’d like to think that’s something we have in common. We’re all mixed up but at the core we remain true to ourselves and our style.”
