A round-up of the latest convictions from Oxfordshire's magistrates' courts. 

BANBURY

Rhys Crane, 18, of Langford Gardens, Bicester, was convicted of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause a person to believe immediate unlawful violence would be used against them or provoke the immediate use of unlawful violence in Banbury on May 3. Also convicted of failing to produce and deliver a train ticket or failing to pay the fare or give his name and address when requested in Banbury on the same date. Fined £450 and ordered to pay a £40 victim surcharge and £775 costs.

Mathew Feltham, 26, of Bretch Hill, Banbury, admitted assaulting Jade Feltham in Pascali Place, Banbury, on July 30. Also admitted assaulting James Messenger by beating him in Pascali Place, Banbury, on the same date. Fined £250 and made subject to a restraining order. Ordered to pay £100 compensation, a £25 victim surcharge and £500 costs.

Matthew Banks, 55, of The Green, Charlbury, was convicted of failing, without reasonable excuse, to provide a specimen of blood for a laboratory test at the Horton General Hospital, Oxford Road, Banbury, on May 23. Fined £660 and ordered to pay a £66 victim surcharge and £1,250 costs. Handed a 24-month driving ban.

Bogdan Constantinescu, 30, of Kingsclere Road, Bicester, admitted drink-driving in Hunt Close, Bicester, on September. Had 68 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, exceeding the limit of 35 micrograms. Also admitted driving without insurance. Fined £400 and ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Handed an 18-month driving ban.

Adrian Fannon, 38, of Evenlode, Banbury, admitted stealing foodstuffs worth £40 from Co-op, Banbury, on July 13. Handed a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £40 compensation and a £20 victim surcharge.

Justin Smithwick, 42, of Oxford Road, Bodicote, Banbury, admitted using threatening or abusive words of behaviour or disorderly behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in White Lion Walk, Banbury, on September 9. Handed a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge.

Darren Corbishley, 47, of no fixed abode, was convicted of harassing Elizabeth Lumb by sending repeated messages and leaving flowers and a letter at her home in Lowell Place, Witney, between January 22 and May 21. Fined £120 and made subject to a restraining order. Also ordered to pay £150 compensation, a £20 victim surcharge and £300 costs.

James North, 27, of Murcott House, Murcott, Kidlington, admitted stealing a jacket and T-shirt worth £34 from Sainsbury's, Pioneer Square, Bicester, on August 4. Also admitted failing without reasonable cause to surrender to custody at Banbury Magistrates' Court on September 9. Handed a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs.

Daniel Gunter, 18, of Beaulieu Close, Banbury, admitted damaging a Lexus car in Banbury on June 18. Ordered to pay £500 compensation and £85 costs.

Adrian Jerrferies, 26, of Hearthway, Banbury, admitted possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, in Banbury on June 11. Given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Istvan Kiss, 41, of Oliver Road, Oxford, was convicted of assaulting a woman by beating her in Yarnton on May 30. Also admitted destroying her mobile phone. Given a community order requiring participation in a rehabilitation program for up to 30 days and ordered to pay £500 compensation for the phone, an £85 victim surcharge and £879 costs. Restraining order issued, until September 2018.

Piotr Gorecki, 41, of West Street, Banbury, was convicted of driving on a public road, namely Banbury Road, Bicester, without a licence, insurance or an MOT certificate on March 14. Fined £325 and banned from driving for six months.

Radoslaw Marynowski, 35, of Laurel Close, Carterton, admitted speeding at 57mph in a 30mph zone on Ducklington Lane, Witney, on March 4. Fined £215 and ordered to pay a £22 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Driving licence endorsed with six points.

Jon McKelvey, 19, of Foxwood Lane, Bradwell Village, near Burford, was convicted of speeding at 95mph in a 70mph zone on the A40 at Witney on June 27. Also convicted of driving a Renault Clio with a bulge in the tyre on Brize Norton Road, Carterton, on August 5 and driving without insurance. Fined £1,320 and ordered to pay £170 costs and a £66 victim surcharge. Driving licence endorsed with five points.

Deirdrie Galbraith, 56, of Wise Avenue, Kidlington, was convicted of using a colour television without a licence at home on February 11. Fined £75 and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £160 costs.

Anthony Harris, 43, of Fane Drive, Berinsfield, admitted using a colour television at home without a licence between January 29 and March 1. Fined £440 and ordered to pay a £44 victim surcharge and £120 costs.

David Bridson, 63, of Orchard Way, Kings Sutton, near Banbury, was convicted of keeping a vehicle which did not meet insurance requirements on March 24. Fined £220 and ordered to pay a £22 victim surcharge and £110 costs.

Georgina Cavanagh, 39, of Evenlode Close, Bicester, was convicted of failing to hand over a rail ticket for inspection in Banbury on April 15. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £4.90 compensation, a £30 victim surcharge and £130 costs.

Donna Cowley, 28, of Portland Road, Milcome, near Banbury, admitted failing to make her children attend school between March 24 and June 20. Given a 12-month condition discharge and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £100 costs.

John Dyson, 52, of Primrose Close, Witney, was convicted of using an unlicensed vehicle on a public road on April 22. Fined £660 and ordered to pay £262.92 vehicle excise back duty and £90 costs.
