A man has been charged after a burglary at an Oxford church.

Richard Mitchell, aged 41 of Luther Street, Oxford, was charged on Friday with one count of burglary at the Church of St Peter and Paul, West Way.

The charge followed the burglary at the Botley church on September 23 and Mitchell was also charged with one count of possession of heroin - a Class A drug.

He is due to appear at Oxford Magistrates Court on Tuesday October 4.
