POPULAR supermarket Aldi will be closed for one month while the store is refurbished.

Shoppers will have to get their groceries elsewhere until Thursday, October 27 while the Botley Road store is given a face lift.

A spokesman for the German-owned supermarket said the month-long closure would lead to a better store for shoppers.

He said: "We are upgrading our Botley Road store to improve our customers' shopping experience and expand our warehouse space.

"So we can work quickly and safely, we will be closing the shop.

"We look forward to opening again in late October and welcoming customers to our newly refurbished store."

Representatives for the store have remained tight lipped about the details of the refurbishment.
