A 42-YEAR-OLD man was stabbed in the back of the head with what is believed to be a Stanley knife during a robbery near a Barton play area.

The incident occurred at 10am on Thursday, September 22.

The victim was in an alleyway behind the playground on Waynflete Road, Headington when he was approached from behind and pushed into a fence.

The offender then stabbed the man in the head and made off with a quantity of stolen cash.

He was wearing a hood over his head, a scarf over his face and had a Gold Adidas logo on the front of his top.

Investigating officer PC Eva Ramirez from Oxford Local CID said: “I would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened during this robbery.

"There were a number of people waiting at a bus stop for the number 8 bus, directly in front of the play area, who may have witnessed it.

"I would like them to speak to police as they may be able to provide details which could assist the investigation.”
