TIPPLERS in Oxford will face a rather pleasant dilemma if they chose to visit the latest new bar in the city – a bewildering choice of beers.

The Pint Shop, in George Street is offering drinkers up to 21 individual brews – some of which are unavailable anywhere else.

The bar, which opened its doors to guests last week, is modelled on early 19th century ale houses, and offers craft beers, 100 whiskies, the same number of gins, and wines personally selected by owners on a tour of the Languedoc region of southern France.

It also offers food – with an emphasis on meat dishes.

Rich Holmes, who owns the bar with business partner Benny Peverelli. They have a sister bar in Cambridge.

He said: "We have 21 beers on permanent rotation, most of them British, and one of which is only available here."

He added: "We’re so excited about opening in Oxford. It’s a beautiful, vibrant city we can’t wait to be part of, and the site we have chosen is perfect."
