HOTELS and guesthouses in Woodstock have seen bookings coming in thick and fast for the past few months, as an influx of farm lovers arrive for today's highly anticipated Countryfile Live.

Being held for the first time this year, the family-fun outdoor show will be held at Blenheim Palace until Sunday.

And a few hotels in the town, where the palace is situated, have announced they are completely booked up for the entire period.

Becca Leach, manager at Churchill Court Hotel - where rooms are about £84 a night - said she had been fully booked for a few months.

She said: "We have 11 rooms here and six of those are fully booked from today until Sunday - for people staying the whole period.

"We are normally quite busy on the weekends but we have the odd weekend where we have some rooms available, but this weekend has been booked for ages.

"It's all kicking off. I'm really excited. I'm actually going along myself on the Sunday."

But owner of The Glove House bed and breakfast in Woodstock Francesco Totta said while most of his £220 rooms were booked up for the weekend, he said he had not noticed much difference.

He said: "In most summers we are always busy. It's not too different at all."

And across Oxfordshire hotels and bed and breakfasts are filling up fast, as the school summer holidays get well underway.

Barbara Hands, owner of the Old Post Office in Bicester, said she was fully booked this weekend but had been all throughout July.

She said: "I don't know if my guests are here for Countryfile. This time of year I'm always full - I call it wedding season."

Richard Smith, manager of Gables Guest House in Botley, told a similar tale.

He said: "We are busy and we are full this weekend too. Normally this time of year we are full most weekends though."

More than 500 exhibitors have signed up for the four-day Countryfile Live event at the palace, and visitors will be able to try wood-cutting, take part in an off-road driving experience, cuddle animals and more.

There will also be 600 food and drink stalls, a vintage funfair, a fete and a tug-of-war competition.
