OXFORD United Women’s manager Les Taylor is confident his side will put recent disappointing defeats behind them when they host Everton tomorrow.
The U’s threw away a two-goal lead to go down 3-2 at basement side Watford in FA Women’s Super League 2 last weekend, following a 3-1 defeat at London Bees the previous week.
But Taylor believes United will not carry any hangover into this weekend.
He said: “The girls’ reaction in training has been fantastic.
“A few mistakes have let us down in the last couple of games, but they’ve not dropped their heads.
“Watford had three chances last week and converted them all, but for most of the game our performance was very good.
“It’s a young side and they’ll learn from these mistakes and will become better players.”
Striker Lauren Allison (chest infection) and midfielder Laura Rafferty (calf) are doubts to face the Toffees, while captain Kat Nutman remains sidelined with a knee injury.
But the U’s have been boosted after being awarded a walkover from their unplayed match away to Millwall Lionesses in May.
Instead of rearranging the fixture, the FA WSL Management Committee decided to award the three points to Oxford, putting clear daylight between them and basement side Watford once again.
