THE NEW Bishop of Oxford was formally "introduced" to the House of Lords yesterday.

The Rt Rev Steven Croft, who will take up his leadership of the Oxford Diocese this autumn, officially joined the Lords in 2013 as the Bishop of Sheffield.

Yesterday afternoon he was ceremonially introduced to the other Lords again but in his new capacity.

Bishop Steven, a graduate of Worcester College, Oxford, was announced as the new Bishop of Oxford on April 12.

He will replace the Rt Rev John Pritchard, who retired as Bishop of Oxford in October 2014.
