Teachers across the county are on picket lines this morning as part of a national strike.

The National Union of Teachers (NUT) is taking industrial action over concerns about school funding.

Parents are advised to phone their school to check whether it will be open, but the current list of closures is as follows:

Bishop Loveday Church of England Primary School: part closed - both Year 5 and Year 6 classes are open. The remainder of the school is closed.

Blewbury Endowed Church of England Primary School: part closed - Class 1 FS, Classes 2, 4 and 6 are closed. Classes 3 and 5 will remain open.

Bloxham Church of England Primary School: part closed- classes 2MH, 2S, 3P, 5PD and 6C will be closed.

Botley School: closed

Burford Primary School: Reception 1and 2 (Warwick and Windrush) classrooms are closed. Remainder of the school is open

Comper Foundation Stage School: part closed - Mango Reception class is closed Reminder of the school will open.

East Oxford Primary School: closed. Support staff will be offering limited childcare. 

Garsington Church of England Primary School: part closed - the School is closed apart from Reception Class.

Great Tew Primary School: part closed- Year 1 and Year 2 will be closed.

Hanwell Fields Community School: part closed- Foundation stage will be closed between midday and 1pm.

Hill View Primary School: part closed- Year 6 will be closed.

King's Meadow School: part closed- Classes 2, 4, 5, 6, 13 and 14 will all be closed.

Langford Village Community Primary School: part closed.

Larkrise Primary School: closed.

New Hinksey Primary School: part closed- Reception, Year 1, Year 5 and Year 6 will be closed.

Northfield School: closed

Rose Hill Primary School: part closed- Star class in Reception and sycamore class in Year 5 will be closed.

St Barnabas' Church of England (Aided) Primary School: part closed - The nursery, F1 reception, Year 1, Year 4 and Year 5 closed; Years 2, 3 and 6 will be open.

St Blaise Church of England Primary School: part closed - one classroom closed in the afternoon

St Ebbe's CofE School: closed

St John the Evangelist CofE school, Carterton: one nursery class closed

St John's Catholic Primary School, Banbury: closed

St Mary and St John Church of England Primary School: part closed- Willow and Chestnut in Year 1, Aspen and Mulberry in Year 3, Walnut in Year 4, Silver Birch in Year 5 and Lime and Holly in Year 6 will be closed.

St Nicholas' Primary School: part closed - KS1 and 2, Ash, Lime and Oak Early years closed

St Swithun's CofE Primary School: part closed - closed except for new reception children ice breaker session

Tackley Church of England Primary: part closed - two classes in years 4 to 6 (Sycamore and Oak) closed. All others open.

West Kidlington Primary School: closed.

Windmill Primary School: part closed - RCM class, all of Year 1, 2LW, 3HK, 4GR and 4HJ all closed. All other classes open as usual.

The union is taking action because it claims there would be an average cut of eight per cent in funding and that strike action is "vital to keep pressure on the Government".

The Department for Education has urged teachers not to strike.
