PREPARATIONS are well under way for one of the largest free parties in Didcot's history.
On Saturday the red carpet will be rolled out as the town celebrates the Queen's 90th Birthday with entertainment, stalls and a picnic in Edmonds Park.
From 1pm residents are invited to bring a picnic and enjoy the programme of entertainment and 50 stalls on the day.
The town council will be running a 'best picnic' competition, with prizes to give away for the top three entries.
Entrance to the event is free and so is parking.
Mayor of Didcot, Steve Connel, said: "I’m really proud at what we have managed to provide Didcot and all as an added bonus this will be a charity focussed event with all the stall holders making a donation to my two charities rather than paying the council for attendance."
