Modern Art Oxford has launched its first ever crowdfunding appeal to raise £17,500 for an artist-led publication to mark its first 50 years.

To mark the historic anniversary, 50 internationally celebrated artists have been invited to create unique artists’ pages for a landmark publication.

Marina Abramović, Dan Graham, Hans Haacke, Louise Lawler, Richard Long, Gustav Metzger and Yoko Ono are among those who have already agreed to contribute to the project.

The Pembroke Street gallery has launched its appeal through the Art Fund’s digital platform, Art Happen at artfund.org/mao-arthappens.

Contributions raised will go towards design, production and printing costs.

In return supporters can choose from a number of different rewards, including limited edition prints, postcards featuring highlights from the archive, bespoke contemporary art experiences including artist studio visits and day trips, and the publication itself.

Paul Hobson, Director of Modern Art Oxford, said: "We are so excited about this new publication which celebrates 50 inspirational years founded on the vision of some of the world’s greatest artists.

"We are grateful for the generous support and partnership of the Art Fund for this project, which forms part of our year-long 50th anniversary celebrations in 2016.

"By helping us to realise this project, contributors will help to shape and share an extraordinary history with audiences today and for generations to come, while benefiting from some really unique offers in return."
