A LORRY crashed into Oxford Railway Bridge in Botley Road.

The lorry, which was carrying a crane, became stuck under the bridge at about 11.30 this morning.

Thames Valley Police said a recovery operation had taken place and the vehicle had been removed.

No one has been hurt in the incident.

Police spokesman Gareth Ford-Lloyd said some damage had been caused to the bridge and some fragments had fallen into the road.

He added: "The bridge has been assessed by Network Rail and there is no structural damage.

"We are currently directing traffic."
