SELF-BUILD talks and visits to a former Ministry of Defence site, will make up the Build It Live! exhibition being staged in Bicester.

The show, organised by Build It magazine, is being held at Bicester Heritage on June 11 and 12 to inform residents of the largest self-build site being built at south Bicester.

The land at Graven Hill, sold by the MoD to Cherwell District Council, will become the largest self-build scheme in the UK once complete, with 1,900 homes.

Graven Hill Village Development Company managing director Philip Singleton said: "Graven Hill is set to become the UK’s largest ever self-build project so we are delighted to be working in partnership with Build It to bring this established event to the site.

"Not only will self-builders have access to more than 100 suppliers specialising in all aspects of the self-build process but they will also be able to tour Graven Hill for the very first time.

"This is the third Build It Live event to take place this year and the first ever to take place in Bicester.

"With so much interest in self-build and nothing like Graven Hill currently available elsewhere we are expecting a huge amount of interest in this event so would urge people to book their tickets early to avoid disappointment."

The show is for anyone interested in building their own home or renovating property, will building experts and an appearance from TV presenter and architect Charlie Luxton.

It will run from 9.30am to 5pm and tickets cost £12 from builditlive.co.uk
