TWO lucky Oxford United fans will enjoy a VIP experience to ease their nerves against Wycombe Wanderers Saturday afternoon.

A win will guarantee Michael Appleton's men automatic promotion to League One and avid supporters Steve Viner and Cliff Sadler will enjoy a host of luxury benefits with their guests at the game.

The pair were selected at random after taking part in the Oxford Mail's competition, which involved collecting tokens in the paper.

They will enjoy a day which includes a lunch on a table in the Clifford Thames Boardroom with Chairman Darryl Eales, an chance to ask Appleton questions and the best seats in the house.

Mr Sadler, from Yarnton, said he couldn't believe it when he found out he'd won.

The 56-year-old is planning on taking his brother Derek an nephew Paul to the game, as well as a couple of friends.

The father-of-two added: "I have been going to Oxford Untied games since I was about 10. I can remember my first game was against Blackpool because of their tangerine strips.

"I've followed them through the ups and downs but it seems like we are on the way up. It's be a great year.

"I think we have enough to get over the line, I'm being positive."

Mr Sadler who works as a lighting services delivery manager said he has never met chairman Eales and was looking forward to asking head coach Appleton about his plans for next year's squad.

Father-of-two Mr Viner, of Eynsham Road, Oxford, said he was "delighted" when he found out he had won the competition.

He said he has been a reader of the Oxford Mail for 50 years and has followed the U's throughout that time.

The 71-year-old added: "I have never won anything in my life, I was quite surprised when I checked my emails so I'm delighted.

"I'm going to take my eldest son Jonathan and my grandson Archie [15] and a friend of mine Bob Cox.

"I used to go quite often to the old Manor Ground and it;s good to see the team doing well.

"They have struggled the past few years, but this season has been great so I think we are going to win and it will set us up nicely for next season."
