YOUNG thespians from the county's schools are taking part in a national youth festival – which takes to the stage at an Oxford theatre.
Actors from seven schools and youth companies will perform at the North Wall Arts Centre, in Summertown, on the May bank holiday weekend, as part of the National Theatre's 21st Connections Festival
The festival features new plays by leading playwrights and young theatre companies from all over the country.
A youth theatre group from The Oxford Playhouse and Magdalen College School will be one of 500 theatre companies, 10,000 young people, and 44 partner theatres taking part.
They will be performing 'Citizenship' by Mark Ravenhill, which is one of eight plays written for the festival.
The North Wall's general manager, Sherrell Perkin, said: "We're excited to be hosting the National Theatre Connections festival for the third year running.
"It's a great way for us to extend our commitment to young people who want to perform.
"We get to support a wide range of new productions, and it's wonderful to see so many teenagers in the building enthused and excited about performing here.
"They have a great time and so do we."
