A faulty level crossing in Kidlington that caused delays has now been fixed.
The crossing was malfunctioning with one barrier stuck down and blocking Sandy Lane both ways.
The problem was reported to Network Rail just before 3.30pm and a team of engineers repaired the fault at 4.30pm.
Temporary traffic lights have added to delays and traffic is still slow on the A44 Woodstock Road and A4095 near Oxford Airport.
Thomas Pizzey, 85, was killed when the car he was in was struck by a Freightliner train at the Sandy Lane crossing in January 2013.
Network Rail revealed to the Oxford Mail shortly afterwards that the crossing had failed 21 times in 2012 - around once every fortnight.
