ONE of the tallest players in NBA history has given a helping hand to young basketball players at a training camp in Oxford.
At seven foot four inches, Priest Lauderdale dominates any court he walks on to but the former Denver Nuggets star gave youngster the limelight at Oxford Spires Academy earlier this week.
The five-day run by Oxford City Hoops, where Lauderdale is an ambassador, offered coaching to young players of all abilities.
The former NBA star said: "We were helping out the club, it's still a growing a sport here and we want to help the kids out.
"My thing is trying to give them as much input as I can - not everyone will be good at basketball but they might enjoy it and we can teach them the fundamentals.
He added: "There were some good players on the camp there was some talent there.
"They enjoyed it and I think they enjoyed talking to me - they certainly listened and it was great to meet them."
