Environment Agency flood alerts are in place this morning as wet weather caused tricky conditions for drivers.

There was surface water on major routes including the M40, A34 and A40 and drivers have been advised to take extra care.

Stagecoach Oxford is warning that there are delays on most routes of about 30 minutes due to the wet weather.

Flood alerts, which warn that flooding is possible, are in place in numerous locations along the Thames and its tributaries, including the River Ock from Watchfield to Abingdon and the Letcombe Brook at Wantage.

The River Cherwell is also on flood alert to just above Upper Heyford, and the Evenlode from Moreton-in-Marsh to Cassington.

 

 

 

 

The Met Office forecast is cloudy with periods of rain, occasionally heavy and persistent, but tending to become lighter and more patchy later, witj the possibility of sleet over hills Tonight there will be patchy light rain and persistent cloud in western counties and it will be a chilly night.

Tomorrow is will be cloudy with a few spells of light rain.
