LITTLE Bo Peep may have lost her sheep, but she probably didn’t have to chase round a golf course to find them.

Owner Pamela Smith has appealed for the public’s help in tracing one of her woolly friends, which has now been on the run for at least 10 days.

The owner of Kirtlington Golf Club has about 40 rare Hebridean black sheep in her flock.

Rather than using more common mechanical grass cutting methods, club staff set the sheep free on the course to graze and keep the rough areas clean for golfers.

But one adventurous animal has taken this a little too literally, and is now believed to be loose in the Kirtlington and Bletchingdon area.

Miss Smith, from Kirtlington, said: “We thought we saw it on Wednesday but didn’t manage to get it, we just hope that it’s still in the nearby area.

“We’ve had the sheep for about two years now and they’re perfect for grazing, especially when it comes to the rough areas.”

The sheep, known for their ability to cope on open hills in extreme conditions, were brought to the club from the Isle of Mull in Scotland.
