A fully-booked "no-holds-barred" debate on Britain's future in the European Union will be held tonight in the Town Hall.
The event is being hosted by the Oxford branch of pro-EU organisation the European Movement and chaired by local radio legend Bill Heine.
Oxford European Movement chairman David Blackman said: "We have had debates and meetings about this for months; now it's going to be the no-holds-barred campaign, we thought we should start with a debate.
"We thought there was no point preaching to the converted. We have to hear different points of view and people representing a diametrically-opposed view."
Speaking on behalf of remaining in the EU will be European Movement national chair Laura Sandys (cor).
Fighting the corner for leaving the EU is Patrick O'Flynn, the UKIP MEP for the East of England.
It is believed that the majority of the audience will be pro-EU but with some eurosceptics also present.
The debate begins at 7.30pm.
