A RAPIST from Littlemore who fled the country on the eve of his trial has been extradited to the UK today.
Joseph Tsang, of Sandy Lane, Oxford, was convicted in his absence of raping and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in Hampshire following a six day trial at Oxford Crown Court last August.
Jurors also found Tsang guilty of one count of making indecent images of children, two counts of causing or inciting a female under 16 to engage in sexual activity and three counts of sexual activity with a child under 16 last January.
Thames Valley Police said the 31-year-old skater will begin his 15-year jail term today.
It comes after an international manhunt was launched when Tsang skipped his electronically-tagged bail and was believed to have escaped to Hong Kong where he had family.
Investigating officer Det Con Claire Nangle said: “I am reassured that Tsang is now back in the United Kingdom, where he can be held account for the crimes he committed and start his long prison sentence.
“I would like to commend the victims in this investigation for the bravery and courage they have shown, as well as the hard work of all staff and officers within the police and Crown Prosecution Service who secured Tsang’s convictions.”
