A STRING quartet brought storytelling to life with their collaborative performance of a fairytale.
The Jubilee Ensemble, which aims to introduce children to classical music, performed Jack and the Beanstalk at the Wychwood School in Banbury Road, Oxford, on Sunday.
The musicians were joined by actor Peter Mooney, who narrated the story while the instruments created mood music.
Oxford cellist Coral Lancaster said: “It was a wonderful event which harked back to traditional storytelling where a narrative has little folk songs and pieces of music woven into it.
“The whole aim of the performance was to engage children with classical music and I think having Peter really helped tell the story.
“We want families to enjoy the fun of the story with their children, whilst hearing the beautiful sounds of wonderful composers like Mozart and Tchaikovsky.”
