Former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff brought some showbusiness glamour to the Oxford Union last night.
The famous debating chamber in St Michael's Street is a long way from the sunshine and white sand of Los Angeles' beaches.
But last night the star took time out from his latest UK tour to speak to students at the union.
The American actor is in the city to promote his new musical, Last Night a DJ Saved My Life, in which he is appearing at the New Theatre.
It's not the first time he's been to Oxford, and he admitted enjoying a relaxing longboat ride along the Thames on a previous visit.
The show stars the actor as a DJ trying to stop his teenage daughter from falling in with the wrong crowd.
Speaking before his speech he said: "I've been to Oxford several times, my daughter loves visiting here so we thought it would be a good place to come for the musical.
"It's very much a sing-a-long production, and it's got a fun message about parenting which people can take on board as well."
Mr Hasselhoff is the first famous face to appear at the union so far this year, with other speakers including Mary Berry and Lance Armstrong scheduled to appear.
