TEN tiny angels festooned with tinsel formed part of a Nativity play to remember at Windale Primary School, Blackbird Leys.

Children in Reception took part in two performances last week to an audience of proud parents and staff.

The school in Windale Avenue closed its doors at 1.30pm on Friday.

Headteacher Matthew Wynne, who joined the school in September, said: “It was absolutely gorgeous. The whole sentiment and feeling of Christmas was all wrapped up in one.

“We had two shows and lots of parents turn up.”

He added staff had been “inundated” preparing for the school’s range of Christmas events, which included two carol concerts from Year 1, 2 and 3 and Year 4, 5 and 6 featuring a mixture of traditional and popular Christmas songs.

Youngsters also had a visit from Father Christmas, who left a sack of gifts for every class.

Crafts made by the children were also on offer at a bazaar on Friday, December 11.

Mr Wynne added: “There were live animals and a room packed with presents; children would go in and choose one, and staff would help them wrap it up and put a label on it for a family member to put under the tree.”
