A HEADINGTON firm will celebrate its first anniversary next month with a visit from the Lord Mayor of Oxford.

On December 15, Rae Humberstone will join staff at Skipton Building Society, in London Road, for a special event from noon.

It will mark a year since they moved into their new premises.

Since its arrival the firm said it has been “determined to become a part of the local community” and backed Headington Festival by contributing to the cost of floral hanging baskets.

It has also supported the Hill End outdoor learning centre near Farmoor, which provides outdoor education experiences, by donating £500.

The society said it would also make a donation to the Lord Mayor’s chosen charities, the Blackbird Leys Adventure Playground (BLAP), the Parasol Project and TRAX and will be serving refreshments to visitors.

Manager Sharon Ogden said: “We are looking forward to welcoming the Lord Mayor to our branch to celebrate our first anniversary and invite the local community to join us for refreshments.
