STRONG winds are battering Oxfordshire today with a weather warning in place until the evening.

The Met Office has issued a yellow severe weather warning for wind, with some inland parts of the country expecting gales of up to 60mph.

In Oxfordshire winds are predicted to reach a high of 25mph.

Parts of Scotland could see snowfall, but this is not forecast for the county where instead there could be heavy showers at about 1pm.

Tonight temperatures are predicted to fall to a low of 3C.

The severe weather warning issued by the Met Office is also in effect between 9am and 6pm tomorrow.
