SHOOTING victim Kerry Reeves died from an unsurvivable shotgun wound to the face, an inquest heard today.

The 26-year-old was rushed to the John Radcliffe Hospital late at night on Tuesday, November 3, following reports of a shooting in Abingdon.

But Miss Reeves never regained consciousness after the attack in Thornhill Walk and died in hospital two days later.

An inquest at Oxford Coroner's Court heard that the provisional  cause of death following a post mortem examination was a shotgun wound to her face.

Oxfordshire coroner Darren Salter said police were still carrying out investigations into the death of Miss Reeves, of Banbury Court, The Vineyard, Abingdon.

He added: "She died after receiving a shotgun wound to the face.

"The initial brief details received is that this 26-year-old lady was shot at close range."

Mr Salter said that after being taken to hospital medics concluded Miss Reeves had "unsurvivable" injuries.

Two men, Billy Johnson and Charles Noble, were arrested and charged with her murder.

The pair, both aged 20, appeared at Oxford Crown Court for preliminary hearing yesterday.

Johnson, of Ripon Court, Corby, Northants., and Noble, of Kempton Avenue, Ealing, were remanded in custody to appear at the same court for a plea and case management hearing in February.

Mr Salter said that he would not set a date for an inquest into customer service officer Miss Reeves' death until criminal proceedings were concluded.

He added: "Obviously there is an ongoing police investigation.

"For that reason there is no inquest date for me to set.

"This may be dealt with by criminal proceedings rather than an inquest."
