THE hills of Yarnton were alive with music as care home residents gave their own unique take on a classic musical.
Scenes from The Sound of Music, the 1965 movie which starred Julie Andrews, were played out by residents and staff at Yarnton Residential and Nursing Home on Thursday.
They were supported by community interest company Ladder to the Moon, who helped organise dirndl dress and nun costumes to help create a memorable film shoot. Staff from the company provided Switzerland-inspired dress and helped to improvise versions of classic scenes.
Resident Jean Woods, 85, said: “Taking part reminded me of when my family was growing up as we used to watch the film together.”
